The Abyss : A Short Story

This piece is very dear to me; dare I say... intensely personal. I wrote the story many months ago, and have been slowly chipping away at it since. Along the way I faced  many artistic challenges, over which I feel I have gloriously triumphed! When moments of passionate creative desire brought me through darkness and back to these pages, all was right in the world. I'm incredibly happy to say, it's finally complete (for now!

It is my pleasure to share it with you.

  2. What an epic, beautifully illustrated story. I may have even cried when I read your words about the piece. I understood how the comic parallels this (er, that? I hope!) time in your life. That last panel hit me pretty hard. It was seeing the female character prevail with such certainty and determination. Incredible. You've captured powerful emotions through these characters. The intensity can be felt on every panel! I'm so proud of this. It's an amazing accomplishment.

  5. Awesome! I could really relate to it and love how something so triumphant was born of tragedy.

  7. That saying, "a picture is worth a thousand words" is so creatively illustrated in your panels! Like words or music, your illustrations are so well done they touch my soul and heart. It's amazing to me how you can so profoundly communicate your experience.

  9. The colors have really brought this piece to life, my friend. Sweeping skies, undeniable expressions, and bottomless richness. I tip my hat to you, for the completion and unsullied execution of a labor so intimate. You inspire me.

(And if ever there were any physical copies of this spirited tale, I would hope to be fortunate enough to keep one for the collection.)
