The Abyss : A Short Story

This piece is very dear to me; dare I say... intensely personal. I wrote the story many months ago, and have been slowly chipping away at it since. Along the way I faced  many artistic challenges, over which I feel I have gloriously triumphed! When moments of passionate creative desire brought me through darkness and back to these pages, all was right in the world. I'm incredibly happy to say, it's finally complete (for now!

It is my pleasure to share it with you.

Old Gif

Oh Boy! I sat down and whipped this together many moons ago. Part of a longer piece that will forever be unfinished. Something I've always loved, and want to do more of... Don't know much about it, but I wanna learn!

Landscape Pastels!

After attending a fantastic gallery showing of my old instructor Gary Geraths and his lovely wife @ Bunny Gunner gallery, I was inspired to dust off the old pastels and get outdoors! Returning to Malibu Canyon for a day of hiking and drawing felt so amazing. I happened to run into my pal Andrew Hem and his Otis guache landscape painting class. What are the odds!? How great!

The last time I was there was for the final Los Angeles Swimming meetup before Jeff "Throb" Edwards took off for the east coast. Some rock climber broke his foot and had to be boated out by the mega rescue squad. It put a pause on the cliff jumping madness, but I loved it cause I got to draw gear.

The place is incredible if you haven't been...

Drawing Again!

Oh man! Some portrait sketches from Pier Cafe and The Cows End. Awesome!

And as I walked the Venice Boardwalk, some police horses caught my eye and I busted out the old drawing arm for a short spurt! Rad!
